For fall/winter it seems to be percfectly acceptable to mix the vivd with the matted. Contributor Magazine shows this with vibrant shadows, hair color, nail lacquer, and adding an interesting take on a differnt approach on the sleek, and wavy hair "style". Minus the cigarette.
